On the top of the map:

• Map button gives road map view
• Satellite button gives a satellite view of terrain
• Hybrid button shows roads superimposed on the satellite view

Click the + and - to ZOOM in and out.

Click on a marker icon to read information.

Most important, you can use your mouse to drag the map to show a different location.
